Russia is deploying the Kub-10ME, a new tactical guided loitering munition developed by Kalashnikov Group, in the conflict zone, according to Kalashnikov Group CEO Alan Lushnikov. The weapon system features a redesigned airframe extending its range to over 100 kilometers and is equipped with a homing head incorporating artificial intelligence elements and an 11 kilogram warhead.
Lushnikov stated that the Kub-10ME has already entered service with Russian military forces and will appear on front lines in the coming period. The munition is designed to function in conjunction with the SKAT 350M relay drone, a mini-reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Kalashnikov in 2024 for round-the-clock aerial reconnaissance in optical and infrared ranges.
According to Kalashnikov Group representatives, the Kub-10ME system has been presented to journalists and potential customers and has attracted significant interest. The project was completed on an accelerated timeline. The deployment represents an expansion of Russia's loitering munition capabilities in ongoing military operations.
Why This Matters
Russia has deployed a new loitering munition system with extended range and AI-guided targeting capability, expanding its precision strike arsenal in ongoing military operations. The Kub-10ME's 100+ km range and integration with the SKAT 350M reconnaissance drone represent a measurable advancement in tactical strike capabilities. The system's production and deployment affect the operational scope and targeting precision available to Russian forces in the conflict zone.
