Presley Gerber, Cindy Crawford's Son, Dies at 27 at Rehab Facility

Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died on September 20, 2026, at a rehab facility in Los Angeles. He was 27 years old. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed the death; the official cause has not yet been released pending toxicology results. A representative for the family told media outlets: "The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time."

Gerber was a model who followed in his mother's footsteps, making his runway debut for Moschino at age 16. Over his career, he modeled for prominent international brands including Calvin Klein, Celine, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, Bottega Veneta, and appeared in a 2018 Pepsi Super Bowl commercial alongside his mother. He also worked with his sister Kaia Gerber, herself a supermodel, in a 2018 Calvin Klein campaign. His father co-founded Casamigos tequila with George Clooney.

In recent years, Gerber had been open about mental health struggles and substance use. In a 2023 podcast interview, he stated: "Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that's all I need to do." In January 2019, he was arrested for driving under the influence and subsequently sentenced to three years of probation, mandated treatment, and community service.

In March 2026, in one of his final social media posts, Gerber shared details of undergoing ibogaine treatment, a naturally occurring psychedelic drug legal in certain countries but not the United States. He wrote: "I was absolutely terrified" but "faced what I had been running from, and somewhere in all of it, I started finding my way back to myself," adding "I'm praying it's the last time I have to come back." His mother and sister responded with supportive comments on the post.

In an August 2026 Vogue interview, Gerber's sister Kaia discussed the family impact, saying: "When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone. I think that's also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help." Gerber had previously spoken of his close bond with his family, describing them as "really tight." He was born in Beverly Hills, California, in 1999.
