Presley Gerber, Cindy Crawford's son, dies at 27 in rehab facility

Presley Gerber, a model and son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died on September 20, 2026, at a rehab facility in Los Angeles at age 27. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed the death, though the official cause remains pending toxicology results.

Gerber followed his mother and younger sister Kaia into modeling, making his runway debut at age 16 for Italian label Moschino in 2016. He subsequently worked with major brands including Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Calvin Klein, and Celine. In 2018, he appeared alongside his mother in a Pepsi Super Bowl commercial, 26 years after Crawford's iconic 1992 advertisement for the brand. He and Kaia collaborated on a Calvin Klein campaign in 2018, and Gerber had his sister's name tattooed on his arm.

In recent years, Gerber had been open about his mental health struggles and substance use. In a March 2026 Instagram post, one of his final social media messages before his death, he shared details of undergoing ibogaine treatment, a naturally occurring psychedelic used in certain countries to address addiction. He described the experience as transformative, writing that he "faced what I had been running from" and hoped it would be "the last time" he needed such treatment. His family responded with public support on social media, with Crawford writing, "You are a warrior! Walked thru the fire to find yourself! So proud!"

In 2023, Gerber had discussed his challenges on the Studio 22 podcast, stating: "Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that's all I need to do." He was also arrested in January 2019 for driving under the influence and subsequently received a three-year suspended sentence along with required participation in a DUI program.

In September 2026, Kaia Gerber discussed her brother's struggles in an interview with American Vogue, noting how his challenges affected the entire family dynamic. She described how the situation prompted her to avoid seeking help herself, not wanting to add to her parents' burden.

The family released a statement requesting privacy during this difficult time. Burial details and the official cause of death, pending toxicology results, have not been publicly disclosed.
